Every salon has a no-show policy.
Every salon has a no-show policy. Today we want to explain ours — openly, honestly, and with love for the guests who make Sparkle what it is.
The vast majority of our guests book, arrive on time, and treat their appointment like the reservation it is. Thank you — this post isn’t about you.
But a small number of bookings simply never arrive. And a few guests book, cancel, rebook, and cancel again — sometimes several times for a single visit. Here’s why that creates real problems, and exactly how we handle it.
“An empty chair isn’t just an empty chair. It’s an hour a technician set aside, and an appointment another guest never got the chance to book.”— The Sparkle Organic Nails & Spa Team
What Counts as a No-Show?
Your appointment time is reserved just for you. Your technician plans their day, their products, and the guests booked after you around it.
If you arrive more than 10 minutes late without at least one hour’s notice, your appointment may be cancelled and marked as a no-show.
Booking an appointment and simply not arriving counts as a no-show too.
Our No-Show Policy: Three Strikes
We track no-shows on every booking profile, and we apply the same no-show policy to everyone — fairly and consistently.
- First no-show — the missed appointment is recorded on your booking profile. Unexpected things happen, and we understand.
- Second no-show — recorded again. At this point we may reach out to confirm before accepting your next booking.
- Third no-show — we reserve the right to cancel your upcoming bookings, decline future appointments, and remove your booking access in Belle Booking.
This is never a decision we take lightly, and it isn’t personal. But three reserved appointments that went unused means three times a technician’s time was lost — and three times another guest missed the chance to book that slot.
The Problem With Constant Rescheduling
No-shows aren’t the only pattern that causes problems. Some guests book an appointment, cancel it, rebook it, then cancel again — over and over.
Here’s why that matters. The moment you book, that time slot is blocked for every other guest. When it’s cancelled at the last minute, the slot usually goes unfilled — the guests who wanted it have already made other plans.
Meanwhile, your technician has planned their entire day around a set that never happens.
To be clear: occasional rescheduling with good notice is completely fine. Truly. But when booking and cancelling becomes a repeated pattern, we reserve the right to treat it the same way as no-shows — upcoming bookings may be cancelled, and future booking access may be paused.
Running late or need to move your appointment? Message us as early as you possibly can — at minimum, one hour before your appointment time. Early notice lets us adjust the schedule, offer your slot to another guest, and rebook you with no strike on your account. We completely understand that unexpected situations arise, and we will always do our best to accommodate you.
Why This Policy Protects Everyone
Our technicians’ time is their livelihood. An empty chair is unpaid time they can never get back.
Other guests lose out too. That Saturday morning slot you didn’t use? Someone else wanted it — and by the time it opened up, it was too late for them to take it.
And here’s the part we’re proudest of: honouring bookings is exactly what allows us to stay deposit-free. We don’t charge deposits for regular appointments, and payment is only due once your service is complete. That only works when appointments are respected.
- Arrive on time — it protects your full service and everyone booked after you
- Give at least one hour’s notice — if you’re running more than 10 minutes late
- Reschedule early, not often — the sooner you tell us, the easier it is to help
- Book when you’re sure — a booking is a reservation, not a placeholder
No-Show Policy FAQs
What counts as a no-show at Sparkle?
Arriving more than 10 minutes late without at least one hour’s notice, or not arriving at all. In both cases the appointment may be cancelled and recorded as a no-show.
What happens after three no-shows?
Under our no-show policy, we reserve the right to cancel your upcoming bookings, decline future appointments, and remove your booking access in Belle Booking.
Is rescheduling the same as a no-show?
Not when it’s occasional and comes with early notice — that’s completely fine. But a repeated pattern of booking and cancelling may be treated the same way as no-shows.
I’ve lost my booking access — what can I do?
Reach out to us directly on Instagram, Facebook, or by phone. We review every situation individually, and we’re always willing to have an honest conversation.
Do you charge deposits or cancellation fees?
No — regular appointments require no deposit, and payment is due only once your service is complete. Gift cards are the only exception and are paid in advance. Respecting bookings is what keeps it this way.
Thank You for Showing Up
To the overwhelming majority of our guests who arrive on time, appointment after appointment — thank you. You’re the reason our days run smoothly, our technicians thrive, and our booking stays simple and deposit-free.
